Wii networking w/ Netgear WGR614
This morning I was going nuts trying to get the wireless to connect to a new X-mas present.
Anyhow, I had both WEP security and device restricted mode set on the router. So I was going crazy trying to figure out why the Wii wouldn't connect after getting the WEP keys on the Wii and the Wii's MAC address on the router's allowed devices list. Seemed like everything was in order, and tried both automatic and manual settings.
So what does it turn out to be? They really aren't just joking when they say unplug and replugin the router. Apparently the router doesn't seem to refresh all settings unless you hard reset the thing. (So it was running into a brick wall because it wasn't recognizing the new allowed MAC until the restart.)
Just so you know. My 2-cents here.
